1949, The 40th anniversary for Hudson. Upper series models were now called Commodore customs and looked identical to the 1948 Commodores. The dash was very attractive with the 2 tone paint and wood grain. Two large parcel compartments were now incorporated in the dash. Commodore customs had distinguishing features such as bumper guards, hand rails on the back of the seat with envelope panels. Only 596 Commodore 8's were produced.
