GMC C1500 1972 $12,500

What I have is a 1972 GMC C1500 Sierra Grande. The following are some of the appraisers statements quoted from a State of Oregon certified appraisal for insurance valuation to determine an updated coverage amount by my insurance company dated 7/24/2012 (see attached images below), they are; "A very clean original truck, excellent care has been taken to preserve this truck!!! Big Block engine, Factory Air, deluxe equipment, much better than average condition. A RARE original example of one of the most popular collector trucks". Throughout appraisal in comment areas appraiser wrote the following: Odometer Reading: 46560 miles. Exterior: Orange/White Exterior Finish: Excellent to Good, no modification, All Original & Excellent. Interior: Parchment/Black Original & Excellent Unbelievable Condition. Engine: No modifications, Original & Excellent, Any Leaks: No, Normal for its age. Engine Compartment: Original Good Condition., Recent Insurance Appraised Value of $19,900.00, Vehicle Description:, I can tell you that it runs very strong, does not smoke, engine is not noisy and has strong oil pressure. It has a very nice sounding dual exhaust system. I believe the entire drive train is original, but have not verified it for myself. It has a clean Oregon title. It has newer carpet, seat upholstery, door and window rubbers/felts. It has the factory Parchment/Black interior consisting of the black seat and carpet with parchment headliner, sun visors, and door panels with wood grain throughout interior. This is a very desirable interior with collectors. The build tag on the inside of the glove box door shows all the options added to it and it still has the original owners and emission control/warranty manuals inside the glove box. It is a very solid, tight and quiet truck inside and is extremely comfortable to drive/ride in. It rides like a Cadillac floating over bumps/railroad tracks, etc.! Steering and front end is tight. It has the Big Block 400 engine (RARE 402 CID Numbers Matching) (Nada Price Guides adds 30% to value), Turbo Hydra-Matic transmission, 4 Seasons Air Conditioning working but needs to be serviced and charged (Nada Price Guides adds 5% to value), Factory Rally Wheels, Hydraulic Brake Booster, Cheyenne Super Sport, Parchment Trim, Tinted Glass, Front Stabilizer, Heavy Duty Rear Leaf Springs, and Power Steering. These are most of the factory options added. Dealer add-on AM/FM/CB Radio with 8 Track Tape Player. The AM/FM works but I have never tried The 8 Track Tape or CB. Also installed is a heavy duty Class III Receiver Hitch with 7 Pole Flat Pin (RV STYLE) Trailer Receptacle for pulling your trailer., The inside of the bed has no dents and only some surface rust from being used over the years and getting scratched. There is however a small dent behind the right front tire on the lower portion of the fender, a very small crease just past it on the bottom of the passenger door and a couple of small imperfections right below the right rear stake pocket on the right side, the tailgate has a some scratches especially across the top and the wood grain on the tailgate has an issue. I tried to capture any issues in the pictures (see pics). Previous owner removed spotlights but never filled holes on inside of windshield pillars as seen in pics. Also, the right inner fender has a hole in it from battery leakage several years ago but is not visible on the outside and hard to see when the hood is up. There is no known rust in the normal rust spots such as cab corners, door bottoms, front fenders behind the tires, but there are a few places where the paint is getting thin, still looks fantastic though as the pictures show!!! What you see here is what you get, not someone else's so called restoration that was just a cover up that looks good for a couple years and then starts falling apart!!! It is a great looking original and could be a show winner in that class (a rare find that many collectors prefer) vehicle in excellent/good overal
