1957 FORD THUNDERBIRD, , You are viewing a beautiful privately owned 1957 t-bird. This stunning car went through a complete frame off restoration in 2001. As of today It is adult owned and has just 3978 miles on it since the restoration. Below is a complete description., , BODY:, The body on the t-bird was taken down to the shell, messaged, and then painted in its original color Colonial White (CODE EE) including the floor boards and trunk pan. This t-bird has the white hard top which is restored as well as the black convertible top which was new at the time of the restoration. The hard top does come with the storage rack. The chrome bumpers were chrome plated and a new windshield was installed. The glass and trim all remain in good condition. The exterior is completed with a full set of spoke wheels with one in the trunk as a spare. You will also notice this bird has optional back up lights and fender skirts.The overall exterior is still stunning. Pictures are available of the complete restoration which will go with the car., , INTERIOR:, The interior was completely restored in the original color Flame Pleated vinyl which in other words was Red (CODE XH) The upholstery which includes the seats, door panels, carpet and headliner were all installed new. This interior is optioned with power steering, power brakes, power windows, folding convertible top, removable hard top, Magic Air Heater, windshield washer, seat belts, Town and Country radio and 2 speed Ford-o-matic floor shifter. The trunk as you can is restored with a new trunk mat and spare tire with spoke wheel. This is a beautiful interior., , DRIVE TRAIN:, Under the hood is a very clean engine compartment that is home to the optional 312 cubic inch V8 engine(CODE D) that produces 245 hp. The engine has the optional engine dress up kit. During the restoration this engine was completely rebuilt. The transmission is the 2 speed Ford-o-matic(CODE 3) which was also rebuilt at the time of the restoration. The rear differential is the standard unit with 3.10 gears(CODE 1). The drive train is original to the car and operates like a dream., , CHASSIS:, The complete chassis was restored and painted black. All of the brake system and front and rear suspension were restored. All of the exhaust was installed new during the restoration.
