In 1967 Fords Mustang saw its first major redesign. For the first time since its launch the car faced some serious competition. This resulted in Ford evaluating the Mustangs strengths and weaknesses. In addition to the Pontiacs Firebird Mercurys Cougar and Plymouths Barracuda Chevrolet had plans to roll out their new Chevy Camaro muscle car. This resulted in Ford duking it out with its competition by creating a more muscular and powerful Ford Mustang. Feeling pressure from their competition Ford needed to make the Mustang more powerful so it could keep up with its competitors. The answer came in the form of a larger car. Although the wheelbase remained the same at 108 inches the length of the vehicle was increased by two inches resulting in 183.6 inches from front to back. The car also featured a front-suspension track that was widened by 2.5 inches. Another notable change to the 1967 Ford Mustang included side scoops that were painted to match the color of the car. In the past the Mustangs side scoops were chrome plated in design. The new scoops more closely resembled real intakes than in previous model years. This particular 1967 Mustang Fastback has benefitted from an older restoration to make it what you see today. While not perfect the car is in very good condition overall and runs very strong. The car has been painted in a white metallic with burgundy racing stripes that looks great. The paint is older and does have some scratches and dings but retains a great shine and luster. The bumpers appear to be original for the car and have a very nice shine to them with only minor pitting visible. Inside the burgundy interior looks great with no major wear showing. The seats are all in very good condition as well as the carpet which appears to be new. The dash is solid with no cracking or tears along with the door panels headliner and kick panels. Under the hood the 302 Cu In V8 runs great and starts with a turn of the key. Being fed through a 4bbl carb the motor breathes through a set of headers into dual exhaust that sounds great. The engine bay is very clean with many add on parts like a chrome air cleaner Edelbrock valve covers and Edelbrock carb. The mileage currently shows 13887 and the VIN number is 7T02A169212. The car is being sold on a clean Arkansas title.
