Fly in, Drive Home!, Purchased from an 88 yr old man, this car was restored about 10-12 yrs ago and was driven 10-20K miles since then., He believes the car was purchased used from someone at the famed Ford Performance shop, Holman Moody back in the late 60's, but there is no verifying that. Stock this engine came with 406 HP., , Engine is EXCELLENT! Runs, Drives, and Stops Perfectly. No smoke or noises. Driving this car at night with the top, down is absolutely intoxicating. The sound and the power can't really be described. No Shakes or Rattles, except for the Thumpy Camshaft. Let's put it this way; People know when you're coming - like a coming Thunder Storm, rumbling in the valley., Front end doesn't pull or drift. Cruises GREAT at 80+ MPH. This was no frillies performance car; power top and power steering only., He was a serious car guy, at one point had a successful repair shop and despite his age, took very good care of his toys., , Recent or New: Complete Front End, Brakes, Complete Flowmaster Dual Exhaust, Mallory Electronic Ignition, Edelbrock Carburetor and Manifold, Hurst Shifter. The car had been sitting for a while and I had the gas tank boiled out and re-lined, Coolant flushed, etc, , Top is Excellent Condition. The Power Top does NOT presently work but you can hear the top motor works with no apparent leaks in the hydraulics. The paint is a very good driver quality, a few dings, scratches and imperfections but very presentable and shiny. Everything works properly except the radio,as mentioned the power top and the fuel guage. All the Stainless and Chrome is Quite Good. It's not all excellent but very nice. Yes, I have the hood ornament that is not presently on there., , Four Speed Tranny shifts very nice and no slipping from the clutch. Not quite Highway gears in the rear but cruises nice and smooth. The clutch lets out a little high but operates fine. Could use a few pieces of weather stripping., , White interior is near Excellent with just a few very minor flaws from use and time. , Bottomline: How many Big Block, 4 speed convertibles from the Mid-Sixties even still exist? Let alone a 1965 427. You can use this car as-is and have an INCREDIBLE SUNDAY DRIVER and you're guaranteed to never see another like it.
