HISTORY There is no record of the original owner. This car was purchased by the second owner in Indiana, 1969; a young lady in her early 20's and it remained hers until 2006. The lady's is Mrs. Saundra Hill. The original 427 engine was replaced by Mrs. Hill when she purchased the vehicle from the first owner. Mrs. Hill did not have the money for a 427 block, so she installed a 327 engine, having previously owned a 1962 327 Corvette. Mrs. Hill drove the car for many years and eventually stored it in her barn. Prior to selling the car in 2006 Mr. Hill pulled the 327 engine out of the car and had plans to restore the vehicle. Again, time and money became the issue and Mr. Hill never got very far with his project., , A collector/investor from Scarsdale, NY, Mr. Lawrence Sachs, learned of the auto and purchased it to be restored and resold. The vehicle was sent to a restoration shop owned by David Weldon in Michigan for all mechanical restoration and to Tim & Anna Sharp, also Michigan, for painting. It is a "matching numbers restoration" meaning that Mr. Sachs purchased a 1967 Corvette 427 block and had the original numbers stamped into the engine with tools from the 1967 GM era, per NCRS approval. The upholstery is original, the paint is the original color and most everything else mechanically is original. , Mr. Sachs placed the car in the January 2007 Barrett Jackson Auction where it was purchased by Mr. Thomas Gillingham. , , , RESTORATION REPORT FROM RESTORER , Frame off restoration Front springs: sand blasted and sprayed with a clear coat. All shocks: new and spray painted with a custom blended color to match the original color (original shocks). Upper and lower A arms: sandblasted and painted semi-gloss black. In addition, a doughnut shaped cushion was replaced, Front stabilizer bar sandblasted and coated; all attaching hardware restored. New stabilizer link kit with some original parts used. Front suspension bumper; restored original. Cotter pin kit; most replaced with new correct key set. Pittman aim and associated steering components were restored on the exterior. The steering column coupler and box are original. Radiator: original cleaned, tested and painted Radiator cap; original cleaned and zinc plated. Overflow hose: original cleaned and treated. Core support: cleaned and painted semi-gloss black. Shroud: cleaned all bolts and zinc plated. Heater core: repaired. Hood support: cleaned and zinced. Latching hardware: cleaned and zinced. We retained on one some, the original blackout. Brakes: New calipers but are not correct. Brake lines: all lines up front were cleaned and reconditioned, including mounting hardware. Installed new brake line hoses to calibers, front and rear. Installed new brake line that crosses to right rear. Retained original clips. Cleaned main brake line along left frame and installed new clips. Installed new SS parking brake hardware. Cleaned and restored parking brake cable. Trailing arms: sandblasted and restored. New bushings and shims. New wheel bearings and seals in rear. Front wheel bearings cleaned and repacked. Brake shields are original and restored. Master brake cylinder correct and restored. BP booster is original and restored. Front and rear bumpers re-chromed. Grill polished. Seat side rails re-chromed. Seat tracks cleaned and painted with manifold grey which closely resembles the original finish. Headlights: bulbs replaced; correct. Headlight motors: one is original, repaired and restored to operate as a pair. All bulbs were replaced and are correct, same for fuses except one. Turn signal was replaced with a correct NOS. Wiper motor was restored, wiper arms are original and wiper blades may be original. New clutch inspection cover with bolts. Bell housing was cleaned.
