Chevrolet C3500 1993 $-1

Telsta utility bucket/boom body mounted on a 1993 Chevrolet C3500 one ton Chassis. The truck has a excellent running Chevy 5.7 (350c.i.) engine. The transmission in this truck is a recently rebuilt Jasper 4L80E. Rear axle is running 4.10 gear ratio., , The truck is surplus from AT&T. This just came out of their fleet and has not been sitting idle somewhere for years. I can see lots of recent maintenance work that has been done. This was in there fleet and being used so it is in very good shape for its age. Fleet maintained. Please read on as I describe the truck in further detail., , Engine The engine in the truck is a fuel injected Chevy 5.7 V/8. Looking under the hood I can see recent plug wires. A newer radiator, radiator hoses, serpentine belt, and battery. The oil is full and clean and the engine runs excellent. Starts right up with the turn of the key. No fussing with anything., , Transmission The trans is remanufactured Jasper. Looks to be a recent install. I will call and find out how old it is and update the listing. The fluid is clean and full. On a test drive the trans shifts out perfectly with no issues., , Front Suspension and Brakes The brakes in the front look about 60% worn. Plenty of time left but they are not brand new. They stop fine with no pulsation or any issues. The front suspension feels nice and tight and looks well lubed., , Tires All six tires are like brand new. All four rear are matching Firestone Transforce A/T’s. The left front is the same as the rears. The right front is also a Firestone Transforce H/T. Same brand and model as the others but a slightly different tread pattern., , Rear axle The rear axle has a 4.10 gear. I didn’t see any major leaks anywhere. Everything appears as it should. No noticeable issues. This has rear drum brakes. I didn’t remove the wheels to check them., , Lights the lights on the truck function properly. Headlights, low and high beam work fine. Turn signals display right and left, front and rear, clearance/running lights all work. Brake lights work in the rear. There are a couple bulbs out here and there that will need to be replaced before a DOT inspection but you should be just fine to drive it anywhere as it is., , Utility Body and Boom/Bucket The utility body is in ok shape. This is a Michigan truck so there is an issue with rust on the bottoms of the tool boxes. They are not completely rusted away so you could fabricate new floors for the bottoms of the boxes if you wish. Other than the tool box bottoms the rest of the utility body is pretty solid. Exceptionally so considering the age of the truck., , The boom is obviously hydraulic and is powered by the Onan generator mounted on the tow platform at the rear of the truck. The boom/bucket apparatus was manufactured by Telsta. There should be a good photo of the manufacturers specification placard below. Model is A28D and has a 28 ft reach., , The generator starts right up on this unit and all of the functions work properly. I raised the boom up, down, in, out, right, and left from the controls in the bucket as well as the controls on the truck. The pivot function on the bucket itself also works., , I did a quick visual inspection of the hydraulic lines and saw no leaks or issues of concern. I recommend checking these yourself before putting the truck to work. Again I saw no issues, just for piece of mind., , Test Drive I took the truck out on a 25 mile test drive. Everything operated perfectly. The truck has plenty of power. Nothing lacking on acceleration. It tracks straight down the road and does not pull, however the steering wheel is of center a bit. There are no shakes, shimmies, or vibrations. It had a real nice stiff solid feel yet the ride is soft and smooth. The transmission shifts perfectly through all gears. No hesitation or slipping. For a 1993 model truck I would rate the drive as excellent., , As I noted above this truck was recently removed from AT&T’s fleet as surplus. It has been flee
